Why convert EDI to JPG?
An EDI file holds an electronic data interchange message, such as an ANSI X12 or UN/EDIFACT purchase order, invoice or shipping notice exchanged between trading partners. The JPG shows an “EDI document” heading followed by the complete interchange exactly as written, set in a monospaced font with every segment and element intact.
JPG output is saved at quality 90 with any transparent areas placed on white, giving a compact image with smooth detail.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert EDI to JPG?
Drop your EDI file above and press Convert. Our servers check the file for an X12 or EDIFACT envelope, lay out its text as a document, export it to a PDF and render each page as an image. The result is saved as a high-quality JPG, ready to download.
Are the separators in a EDI visible in the JPG?
Yes. The interchange appears character for character, so segment tags, element separators and terminators such as * and ~ are all shown in a monospaced font.
Which EDI standards can a EDI to JPG conversion read?
ANSI X12 interchanges, which open with an ISA segment, and UN/EDIFACT interchanges, which open with UNB, are both recognised and rendered.
What happens when a EDI file fills several JPG pages?
Each page is rendered at 144 dpi and saved as its own JPG image, named page-1, page-2 and so on, and they download together as one ZIP. A single page downloads as one JPG file.
What quality is the EDI to JPG image saved at?
Each JPG is saved at quality 90, a high setting that keeps text and fine lines clear while the file stays compact. Transparent areas are filled with white.
Is my .edi file kept private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted on our servers and deleted automatically within 24 hours. We never read, share or keep your files, and no account is needed.
