Why convert PSP to TIFF?
PSP (also .pspimage) is the native format of Jasc and Corel Paint Shop Pro, storing layers, masks and edits alongside a flattened copy of the picture. The image shows the flattened composite that Paint Shop Pro saves in every file from version 6 onwards, so all visible layers appear merged into the finished picture.
TIFF is a long-established image format for archiving, scanning and print workflows, and it holds the rendered page at full resolution.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert PSP to TIFF?
Drop your PSP file above and press Convert. Our servers read the file's composite image bank, decode the largest flattened image to PNG, then encode it in the format you chose. The result is saved as a TIFF image, ready to download.
Do the separate layers of a PSP file appear in the TIFF?
They appear merged. Paint Shop Pro stores a flattened composite of all its layers in the file, and that combined picture is what the TIFF shows.
Which PSP colour depths and compression types turn into a TIFF?
Full-colour 24-bit images and 8-bit paletted images are both decoded, with palette colours applied to every pixel. Uncompressed, RLE and LZ77 compressed image data are all read.
How big is the TIFF image from a PSP file?
The TIFF keeps the full canvas size of the Paint Shop Pro image, with its visible layers flattened into one picture.
Is the TIFF from a PSP file a single image?
Each rendered page is saved as its own standard TIFF image at full resolution. When there are several pages you receive one TIFF per page in a ZIP, numbered in order.
Is my .psp file kept private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted on our servers and deleted automatically within 24 hours. We never read, share or keep your files, and no account is needed.
