Why convert PCL to GIF?
A PCL file is a print job written in HP's Printer Command Language, usually saved when a document is printed to a file for a LaserJet or compatible printer. The GIF shows each page of the print job as the printer would produce it, with text, fonts, lines and graphics placed exactly where the PCL commands put them.
GIF stores the image with an optimised palette of up to 256 colours, which suits text, diagrams and flat colour.
