Why convert EML to ICO?
EML is the standard single-email file saved by Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook and most other mail programs. The image shows a header table with From, To, Cc, Subject and Date, followed by the message body with its formatting and a list of any attachments by name and file type.
ICO output is a 256 × 256 pixel Windows icon: the image is scaled to fit with its proportions kept, and the surrounding space is transparent.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert EML to ICO?
Drop your EML file above and press Convert. Our servers read the email, lay out its headers, body and attachment list, and render the page. The result is saved as a 256 × 256 ICO icon, ready to download.
Are the sender and recipients shown when an email converts from EML to ICO?
Yes. A table at the top lists From, To, Cc, Subject and Date, and any field the email leaves empty is omitted so the header stays tidy.
What happens to attachments when an EML email becomes a ICO?
Each attachment is listed by file name and type under an Attachments heading below the message, so you can see everything that came with the email.
Which part of the EML becomes the ICO icon?
The first page of the rendered content is used for the icon, fitted inside the 256 × 256 square with its proportions kept.
What size is the ICO made from a EML file?
The icon is 256 × 256 pixels, the largest standard Windows icon size. The image is fitted inside the square with its proportions kept and a transparent surround, stored as a PNG-compressed icon.
Is my .eml file kept private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted on our servers and deleted automatically within 24 hours. We never read, share or keep your files, and no account is needed.
