Why convert DOCM to ICO?
A DOCM file is a Microsoft Word document saved in the macro-enabled Office Open XML format, used when a document carries VBA macros alongside its content. The ICO shows each page of the document with its text, headings, tables, images, headers and footers as they were saved.
ICO output is a 256 × 256 pixel Windows icon: the image is scaled to fit with its proportions kept, and the surrounding space is transparent.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert DOCM to ICO?
Drop your DOCM file above and press Convert. Our servers open the DOCM in LibreOffice, export its pages to a PDF and render each page as an image. The result is saved as a 256 × 256 ICO icon, ready to download.
What does a macro-enabled DOCM look like as a ICO?
It looks like the document itself: the saved text, tables and images on each page. The macro code is stored in a separate part of the file and is kept out of the page layout.
Are headers, footers and page numbers kept in the ICO from a DOCM?
Yes. LibreOffice lays out each page with its headers, footers and page number fields, so they appear on every rendered ICO page.
Which part of the DOCM becomes the ICO icon?
The first page of the rendered content is used for the icon, fitted inside the 256 × 256 square with its proportions kept.
What size is the ICO made from a DOCM file?
The icon is 256 × 256 pixels, the largest standard Windows icon size. The image is fitted inside the square with its proportions kept and a transparent surround, stored as a PNG-compressed icon.
Is my .docm file kept private?
Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted on our servers and deleted automatically within 24 hours. We never read, share or keep your files, and no account is needed.
